Subcontracting Is The Way To Go

Posted by Darlene Freeman on Thursday, November 16, 2017

There are many advantages to subcontracting, including cost reduction, maintaining quality assurance, and preventing problems. Using a subcontractor allows your full time staff to concentrate on the core business which is cost and time effective. There are no worries regarding layoffs either because, once the job is completed so are the subcontractors.

Another very important aspect of subcontracting is preventing reputational damage. Word of mouth plays a very large role in what people hear, a...

We Are Listening

Posted by Darlene Freeman on Friday, July 28, 2017

Its' Friday, the last day of most people's work week. The day that many of us look back and reflect on how our work week went. There is always room for improvement.  We need to be open to constructive criticism, opinions and praise because that is how our business grows. We are constantly learning, discovering new things and ideas, and most importantly, being the kind of company that our clients feel comfortable with and who they can rely on. We are getting educated with each comment and feed...

IT'S A NEW DAY FOR CUSTOMER CARE

Posted by Darlene Freeman on Tuesday, July 4, 2017

It's a new day for Customer Care. People are busy, people want things done yesterday, people want answers not excuses, and on top of it all, people want to be treated with respect no matter how cantankerous they may be.

The Real "411 About Builders

Posted by Darlene Freeman on Monday, July 16, 2012

If there is one thing that I have learned over the past 15 years working in the new home construction industry, it’s that builders are human. What do I mean by that? Well, houses and condos are built by human hands, and human beings using machines to get the job done, which means that perfection is not a reality. That doesn’t mean that quality is not a reality.

Under The Umbrella of Knowledge

Posted by Darlene Freeman on Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Buying a new house or condo is likely to be the biggest purchase you will ever make.  Buying a house or condo from a builder is not only the biggest purchase you will ever make, but it is also a learning experience.

It is a common occurrence that we will take the time to educate ourselves when we are purchasing an appliance, computer, ipod, car, pretty much any expensive item.  We want to make sure that we understand what we are getting, and how it will fit into our lives easily.  We want to m...

Why Butt Heads With Your Builder?

Posted by Darlene Freeman on Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Just to share an experience.  The scenario: A homeowner who purchased a house from a builder pointed out over 200 items on their Pre Delivery Inspection, and again on their 30 Day Form.  The majority of the items are not warranted. The builder has on numerous occasions tried to set up appointments to go into this home to do the work. The homeowner continuously refuses access.  Now they have decided to contact my company for some assistance because the work is still not completed, the ...

Homeowners Need To Schmooze and Network

Posted by Darlene Freeman on Thursday, January 5, 2012

One of the most common problems that homeowners, who have purchased a house or condo from a builder, complain about is Customer Service.  They say that the builder is not addressing deficiencies in a timely manner, and that this is very frustrating for them.  I have spoken to quite a number of homeowners with this complaint and then found out that the problem isn’t always due to the builder. Often times the problem is simply that this is a first time buyer of a new build, and they are not f...
